Once we get it setup the way we want it I will let all of you know how it does. I am not too worried about the length issue. I was LE and never stopped nor heard of any of my LE buddies stopping for length issues. If you get stopped the cop is really bored.

Question for the experts:
If swivel wheel trailers are illegal in Florida, how can they be manufactured in and licensed by the state. Shotgun statements without background causes our members to make wrong decisions.

I am guessing they are illegal behind another trailer and considered double tow. But I have seen them behind MHs with golf carts and ATVs which I would assume is legal.

Check with your state and the states you will be towing in. My brother got stopped and fined in California. He had to drop the little trailer and come back without 5er. In some states you need a class A license.

Look up Idaho Tote on the internet for a solution. It allows you to back up easily.

I built a custom hitch shaped like an H and closed on the rear end. i used 2X2 tubing and included flanges to bolt it to the frame. i have towed the Harley to Texas and to Arizona from Northern Mn twice each with no problems. You do need to be careful wehn stopping for fuel so you don't get blocked in by some jerk. Backing up for any distance is impossible.

Yes DAR is correct about Class A License in California and be careful on the length. Oregon does not allow you to double tow. My buddy lives in Oregon and he went to DMV in Oregon and was told it is not allowed at all. Enjoy the new 5th wheel.

If you are going to double haul ,get a DRV. You can tow up to 35500 or More. Yep, it is against the Law. I asked a Trooper and he said, If you tow safely, and your NOT stupid about what you are doing, we allow RV'ers to double haul. SO, be ready to pay a fine, OR NOT. Slow and easy. Be Blessed.

EVERY State has a tow Length in feet. What ever you are TOWING you can not be Over that Length and Road or you can be fined without a permit. Slow and easy. Be Blessed.
