I could use some help from fellow MOC's out there on some of your favorite places to go. Our travel plan were cancelled, reality popped it's ugly head up in May.
We're at a loss as to where to go in ca for some R&R.I would like to head up North to do some fishing.
We were booked to go to Loveland,Co butit's now out of our means.
Hope to hear from you guys, I'm sure there are lots of favorites out there and the sooner I can book it the better off I'll be .

Thanks

You can't go wrong in the Redding-McCloud-Mt. Shasta area where we all gathered over the weekend. About 90 miles north in southern Oregon you have a lot of choices with the Rogue River and many mountain lakes, all filled to overflowing right now. If you want specific recommendations for this area of southern Oregon, feel free to e-mail me. If you want specific recommendations for the Mt. Shasta area, e-mail either one of the Dons (Searchers or DRHowell).

I couldn't agree more about the Mt. Shasta area. We've decided that we'll definitely be coming back and spend at least a month exploring, hiking and just enjoying the magnificent scenery here!

Fred ... I can pretty much guarantee you'd have a fabulous time in beautiful Northern California.

Having just spent our third time in the Mt. Shasta area, I'll echo what others have said. You can't go wrong in that area. We love the entire area from Redding to Yreka. And from East to West of there.
Happy trails.........................

Thanks for the input everybody.
I think Mt. Shasta would be great to discover this summer. I'll pull out the trailer life and find a park.

Any suggestions?

Fred, we've lived in the area for 29 years and can make some recommendations, depending on what you're looking for in the way of facilities and time frame. You might check out the links provided to the area attractions listed under the Spring Rally area of the forum for a general idea, then e-mail me for other details.

We'd like to meet you if possible if you do make the trip.

Don, we will most definitely take advantage of your offer. And to make it doubly nice, we'd get to visit again with you and Claudia. What a beautiful area!

Fred, while in the area at the rally we were treated to a ride in drhowell's Cessna Cardinal. This picture is of Mt. Shasta from x thousand feet.

Again I want to thank everybody.
Don and Claudia,
I've emailed you and could use your input on a rv park.Someting with trees and nearby fishing but with a adult menu for activities. We hope to be able to meet with ya if the timing is right.
Steve, that picture of Mt.Shasta is breath taking. I'm always been amazed by the sight of it, being a city boy from L.A.

Again thanks all for your feedback and consideration

Fred

Fred, I haven't received an e-mail from you. Perhaps it got caught by my spam blocker for some reason. Please resend it through the MOC forum and we'll get back too you.

If you don't mind a detour of several hours on your way to Mt. Shasta (which is a wonderful destination), Sonoma County operates two parks on Bodega Bay. Some spots have ocean views and cost less than $20 for partial hookups (dump elsewhere in park). With enough time you could see both the mountains and the north coast. Some of the views from Highway One north of Bodega Bay are breathtaking. You'd do them as day trips with this routing.

Don't forget 90 miles north of Mt. Shasta is southern Oregon home of the Oregon Shakespeare theater, Britt Festival (in my back yard in historic Jacksonville), Crater Lake, and much more.
