Towel rack

I want to put a towel rack on the wall behind the toilet in a 3120 . Should I be concerned about wires or anything . My plan was to put a board on the wall using glue and anchors and then attach the rack to that.

I bought a couple of these for our bathroom. They work great.

I can't speak to the wires, or issues, because we don't have that model, but this is the towel rack that we put up:

This gives us a compact place to store multiple towels...

In both the Monty and the HC we use over the door towel racks.

If you really want to use screws you can. As long as you drill shallow and use short screws you should be OK for avoiding wires. I would keep in mind, though, that the wall board is quite thin so while it doesn't take a long screw to get through it, it also won't hold much weight. It also might not withstand the on and off of hanging a towel. Pulling on the towel too hard just once could loosen the screw or just pull it out of the wall. So unless you are able to locate structure behind the wall I would personally avoid using screws for this application. Something light and static like hanging a picture is different. YMMV. Your idea to mount a board first can work...just seems overkill to me.

The other suggestions above using self-adhesive, or over the door racks to me are far better options. Both have worked well for those of us who have used them and both are removable without damaging the wall.

This was our solution. Door is thick enough to attach with screws. Very pleased and allows plenty of room to sit without hitting it with your shoulder.
