After looking at the pictures of the electrical under the bed the wife and I went out to check under the bed of our Montana.

MONTANA BIG SKY 3580RL mfg date 3-04-2011

Raised up the King Size mattress that sets on a sheet of plywood and there is another sheet of plywood screwed to the frame directly under the mattress. There is approximately 6 inches of space between the mattress plywood and the sheet screwed to the frame. You can not see the carpet on the floor. On the outside of the bed frame right next to the carpeted floor there is a electrical outlet but you can not see how it is wired because of the second sheet of plywood on the bed frame.

Mine was not exposed either. The carpet (and the problem connectors) were totally covered by the sheet of plywood that had to be removed first. This plywood sheet is effectively the "floor" of the under-bed storage area. There are just a few inches of clearance between that sheet and the carpet underneath.
The ONLY reason I became aware of this is I happened to be looking right at a small gap in the wood and my trailer was totally dark. I was activating the bedroom slide and saw, in the dark, a quick flash of light from under the bed. I knew it was electrical arcing immediately. I would have never saw it if the trailer had not been dark and I had not been looking directly at the right spot at the right time. Totally a fluke of chance I caught it.
