Angry New owner

I bought a 2010 Montana Mounteer the water heat has caught on fire, melted the controls on the propane controller ,some electric wires have no insulation on them. The resets buttons are breaking up,”what are the reset buttons for electric or propane? Wondering if this is a regular problem for Suburban sw10 de, not sure about the model

Wow! Sorry you had to make this your first post, but welcome to the MOC family. We will do what we can to help out with answers for you.
I can only speculate, but suspect that your issue was most likely a electrical fire. Hopefully no one was injured and the damage was mitigated. The reset buttons were just that - used to reset both the propane circuit and electric heating element circuit. If you still have concerns about your propane regulator, then any propane company can check to output pressure and flow. They would be lots less expensive that a RV dealer taking the checks. Good luck to you. Sounds like a localized re-wire of the entire water heater circuitry. Check back and let us know how you come out with a followup

In the files section you will find a Suburban Water heater manual.
It might be best to replace it altogether or at least pull it out and inspect all the 120vac wiring. There is a 120vac relay mounted to the top left angled side of the water heater that you can only reach after you pull it out about 6". I would definitely inspect the relay and wiring in the box.

Welcome to the forum! In my experience water heater fires are unusual. If it was me, I'd start from scratch with a new water heater and replacement wiring. If it's the original water heater it's at the end of it's life span and if it's not the replacement may not have been wired correctly.
