Bitter Sweet

After 23 years of RV'ing and 17 years in our Montana and part of this forum we have decided to leave the RV mode of travel. The excellent advice we have received from this forum has gotten us through some pretty tough situations. We will miss all the friends we have made and the good times we have had. We'll probably still snoop around on the forum but with the age of our RV don't have much to offer to our newer members.
This was a difficult decision and not one we took lightly but in the end we are both very comfortable with it.
Thanks for the advice and memories.
Jim & Linda

P.S. We will be listing the unit in the for sale section of this forum.

Oh no! We will miss seeing you at future rallies. But do stick around. Historical Montana knowledge is always valuable.

I wish you great success in the next chapter of your life. I'm glad you had great fulfillment with your Montana and your RV lifestyle. I'm sure you have some wonderful memories. Not everyone sympathizes with the RV lifestyle, but deep inside you know the satisfaction and joy it brought to you (both). Treasure those memories, be kind to each other, love each other as if there is no tomorrow, and make new memories with each other. Life is good when we look for that goodness. Wherever you find yourself, therewith find yourself to be content. God speed!

We went thru the same feelings when we sold our 2007 (bought new) 2 years ago next month. Hated to sell it, but decided it was time. Enjoy the next phase of your life whatever it is.

I listed ours on Facebook Marketplace and sold it in 2 days with over 20 seemingly serious people asking about it even after limiting the ad to a 50 (or 75?) mile radius. Actually sold it to the first person that messaged me about it. Met her at her bank and received a bank check for the full amount. Signed over the title and done.

Good luck with your next chapter! Life changes are always difficult, but you are always welcome here if for nothing else than to chat about the times you experienced. Take care.

Thank you all for your well wishes. Some have inquired if our decision was for health reasons. Not at all. Our health is good, at least for our age. An older RV friend of mine once told me, "You'll know when it is time." The RV experience is still great and enjoyable. The three days of prep and loading getting ready to go and the three days to unload and cleaning, not so enjoyable. It is just our time and we are excited to enjoy our new modes of travel.

Good luck

Good luck Jim and Linda. Louise and I are also considering this to be our last year.
Our physical limitations are making it more difficult to set up and tear down not to mention climbing up and down stairs.
We have a number of trips planned this year before calling it quits. It was great knowing you and will miss you both.

Jim, best of luck to you and Linda. Hopefully we will see you stopping by next year for the melodrama at CPRR. We will be in Alaska during the CPRR this year, so we will miss your visit.

Sad day indeed

Sorry to hear that it is time to move on but it is a decision we will all make at some point. Now that we have moved on to SOB I still find that there are gems of insight and wisdom on this form that I benefit from. Wishing you both the very best as you move forward. Bill and Lisa
