We have a 2019 High Country with those whisper junk I mean, whisper quite ac. . Very little air flow out of the 4 main cabin vents. Its awful. You have to search and search for the trickle of air flow. Master Bedroom ac is a "dump ac" and works great with tons of airflow. We freeze in there.
First trip up to Williamsburg in our NEW $$$$ Montana HC unit last year we were roasting 88 degrees inside the living room. Boy were we mad. It was awful. Not our first rig and not our first trip to Williamsburg either. Anyway
Husband watched some youtube videos...husband took off vent covers: the duct integrity was compromised by incorrect installation and incorrect placement of insulation...he repaired and replaced missing or block insulation material.

The vents near the coffee station/butlers area you know near the entry door, he removed those vents. He fashioned a stop--using 2 4inch pvc couplers by cutting away the area on the top to make a stop. He used an oversized rubber band as a gasket on the outside of the pvc to hold it in place inside the vent hold. Then used flashing material to extend the block to each side of the duct---forcing the air DOWN and into the rig. He made deflector cones to guide air flow away from cabinets to redirect the airflow down. Air volume increased at least 40percent.
We were ready to dump this RIG based on the ac. Living in the south---we take AC very seriously. IF anyone needs help doing the same---just send a note.

we barely use our bedroom front A/C also. About the only time we run the front is right after setup, to help the LR rear A/C cool down the monty. Inside temperatures can reach 100 degrees in the southern summer. But I agree with everyone, don't remove it.

Did you go thru with this? Never mind the nay-sayers. They never leave the resort. We Boondockers would rather stay in the high desert, and won’t be found in south Texas or the humid southeast. I am wanting to rid ours of the second bedroom ac, and make room for more solar. With the extra panels and a whole house inverter, soft start on the main ducted ac, I can run the ac all day. No humidity, no hot.

Greg - you might get better responses if you start a new thread - maybe something titled "How can I get maximum roof use for solar panels".

This is an older thread, and if you start a new thread with "solar" in the title it will draw more interest and answers from those with solar panels.
