Zephryhills

We arrive yesterday and are very disappointed, no WiFi. And we were told there was WiFi. And we paid in advance and there is no way to get refund. We give very low marks for this park. This is our first winter on the Gulf side and probably want be back. Texas or Arizona next winter. RV price don't mean nothing here, we to parks in Ruskin and Lake city today price per month $700.00 to $950.00 plus electric. Unbelieveable both parks were in the $350.00 to $450.00 range at best. Much better parks in Texas and Arizona for much less money. Oh well Delaine is working on getting computer service, she is very persistant. Call AT&T today of course they want a contract? We just don't want to go there. Will probably bring our Hughes Net from now on. I am having MOC withdrawls, I am setting on a shuffle board court, and I gues have hijacked someone internet system. GBY....

I know the feeling, been there done that.
I finally opted for the ATT USB-881 with the 1 year contract. I have not been disappointed yet. I'm not all that thrilled about the monthly stipend they demand, but it gets me connected.

Good luck.

If you are talking about getting an air card, thought Verizon has a deal almost month by month???

We have a Verizon USB 727 air card, (We bought) now $59 month, no contract. We'll cancel when we go home and start up the next time we are down here. So far it works good in Yuma & Apache Junction, Az. Good thing, In lots of parks the WiFi is Garbage........ too bad, most of us need it.

Lindy, Sorry to hear of the rotten experience, hope you get some resolve. Once we started RV'ing and saw all the parks with WiFi we thought that would be great. After travelling from Alaska and trying to hook up to CG WiFi, we decided to get the air card. Secure system is great also. I don't even try the CG WiFi anymore. While still in Alaska, at the Army Fam Camp in Anchorage, I had to take my computer to shoppette to get on line, that was before we got the Verizon AirCard.

Seems like a CG that does not provide stated services should refund clients fees. Seems like something for the state Attorney General to hear about, by letter with a copy to CG Owners. I hate geting ripped off by these substandard parks......

We upgraded to the Verizon USB 727 aircard and the cradlepoint 1000 router. We use it on the road and also at home. Our total monthly billing for two Verizon cell phones and the aircard is 161.67.Total We gave up the DSL service and land line service in the stick house. We came out about even on cost..perhaps a bit less. The aircard has served us well all over the country. Many times C.Gs do not tell the entire truth. They will say they have wifi but they fail to mention that you have to pay for it..

Thanks to all, we haven't had good experience with the park. It's name is Palm View Gardens. I will say we haven't found a RV park that measures up in Florida. We look at three more today. Same thing very expensive. We are getting dirty looks, you know like we ar villians. Oh well we have called the corporation HQ, and voiced our complaints, probably a waste of time. Next year if we stay East of the Big muddy we will go to Foley Ala. to Anchors Aweigh. I want to go to Texas or Arizona.

We had AT&T air card in 2005, and it worked most places we went except in parts of South Dakota and Colorado. I said I wouldn't get another contract, oh well saved a little money. The AT&T air card is much better than the last one we had. Its much faster, so I can live with this. I may also start bringing our Hughes Net system again for a back up.

Anyway I will survive, It was in the upper 70's today and haven't had long legged pants on yet. GBY....

We are in a very nice CG just 53 miles north of you along with a couple of other MOC'ers. We are near Disney at Mouse Mountain Campground. There may be room here???

Take a look at RV Park Reviews

I post in there when we have a good park, and when we have a bad park.

It helps others traveling. Those that get less than excellent reviews may need to do something about their park to get people to stay there, but if it goes unreported, then no one knows.

And, COME ON DOWN TO TEXAS!
We are waiting for you.

Wayne Thanks, we normaly don't complain about RV parks. What some like or dislike might be different. I also agree we should voice our complaints more often instead of letting it go.

This morning thing are better, we now have internet in the RV which is very important to us. The park we are in is just old and is owned by a corportation which we have found in some cases isn't good.

We went and got another Air card from AT&T. The speed is much better than the Air Card system we used in 2005. We just need to get a router and a member of MOC is helping us out with this. But since I much bigger than Delaine I am the Alpha male, so I get computer time first, also I just might have a bridge for sale! We are still waiting for a call from the Corp office. Delaine will call every day until we tell them our feelings.

Delaine also e-mailed our friend in Mission Texas (RGV) about a site for next winter. I Love Texas, and will more than likely go there or to Arizona for the next winter. GBY...

I'm sorry you have been having a bad experience here in Florida. We live in Sun City Center which is on the east side of I-75. It is a beautiful retirement community created by Del Webb and we have 20,000 or so residents. On the other west side of the highway is Ruskin. A dirty, poor, rural rednecky area. I wouldn't stay there either!! Zephyrhills is also a not so great community. If you go closer to the gulf or farther south like towards Sarasota and Venice you will find nicer places. I would guess that where Glenn and Lorraine stay in Clearwater is pretty nice also. I have never been to Texas, but the absolute best, most beautiful campground in Florida is Fort DeSoto park. Voted the number one beach in the USA several times and the campground is great. No sewer, but when you are in a tropical paradise you overlook some things. Anyway, I hope the rest of your stay goes well and good luck with the corporate people!! Hope to see you at the RV show next week. Joanie
