Truck question

Goxley11 good morning. We are in the process of purchasing a 3781rl like your rig. I see you are towing it with a dually. We are looking to upgrade our current Ram 2500 to a 3500 diesel 4x4 srw. I would appreciate your guidance on pulling this trailer with a srw vs dually. I know the dually would be more stable, but don’t like it for my daily driver when not towing.

Kello, do you know how to check the numbers? a 1 ton is the right idea but it's best to check the weights against your truck's payload. That trailer will have a calculated loaded pin weight of 3800 lbs. Add to that weight the weight of your hitch, the people in your truck, and the other misc cargo you will carry. That total weight is the amount of weight you're going to put ON your truck.

Now check the yellow sticker inside your truck driver's door. It will say something line "Total cargo and passengers not to exceed XXXX lbs" That's your truck's payload. The payload number should be higher than your cargo/pin weight.
