Does your Res. fridge not cool when towing in hot?

You will need to know how long the new batteries will last. Your converter will not run a battery all the way down. If you have a 100 amp hour battery you will not get 100 amp hours out of it before the system shuts down. So check often as you travel.

If you read the manual on the refrigerator it states NOT to use a GFI circuit. I read a post on this site that he removed the GFI outlet on the inverter and solved his problem. I replaced my GFI on the inverter with a plan outlet and solved all my problems.

You need deep cycle batteries. The word 'crank' or CCA or MCA means it is NOT a true deep cycle. The gold standard is Trojan T105's. A pair as they are 6V. Also, unless you have a hole in your fridge, keeping it closed will keep it cool with power off for 8 hrs normally, maybe only 4 to 6 at 100F.
Also get a Victron BMV so you can keep an eye on the battery. Never allow to go below 50% SOC. Using voltage is a waste of time, it is subject to rest time, loading etc, use a shunt to know the truth.

Get yourself a heat gun and look for the leak. It will probably be around the center seal, a few have reported issues with that.

Just went 5 hrs. temp was 99 outside 91 inside & 36 in the fridge. I think the battery did it. Thanks for the help.

77Cruiser, be aware that your truck is only providing a trickle charge. There are only a few amps going back into your battery. That’s why a lot of lithium battery owners put in a DC-DC charging system with 2/0 wire going back. You really should have 2 12v batteries with a residential fridge if traveling more than a few hours. Chances are, you are taking your battery below 50% and shortening the life. As others have pointed out, a good battery monitor will help you.

Good news. That's probably easier and cheaper in the long run. I've run mine for 18 hours with truck charging a single group 27 battery. Battery maintained 100% the whole trip. The key is starting out with fridge cold. It doesn't need to run nearly as much then.
Also, the newer Samsung fridges are very efficient.

Battery must not have been able to charge good enough to put out enough power to start the fridge.

Robert, 5 amps at 120v is 50 amps on the 12v side (amps x volts = watts), but it doesn’t run all of the time. A typical 7 pin connector will deliver around 5 amps of charging per hour. If you are relying on something other than a shunted battery monitor, you won’t get an accurate measure. Now that is just what I learned before we installed our Bogart meter in the last unit and research for our Super Solar system. We run a BIM system and get about 40 amps from that, plus our solar. With summer heat, we would consume about a quarter of our solar during the day just for the residential fridge. And then watch it drain at night. I would think that two 12v batteries would be a minimum with a residential fridge. Just my opinion. If my math is wrong, I’m always interested in learning.

I agree, it should have come with 2 12 volt batteries. When I replace mine, I'll go to 2 group 27's as that's all that will fit in our battery box without making major modifications. I never boondock and we always have hookups for electric and water at a minimum.
I was concerned that the single battery wouldn't keep up while travelling when I first got the rig, but I have been pleasantly surprised that it has done quite well. The 18 hour trip was the longest I have gone without having shore power and running the fridge with only the truck to charge battery.
