Refrigerator Problem

2021 Montana 3781RL, residential refrigerator not working when not plugged into shore power. Invertor flashing 000 and 5.21. Reset invertor still no luck.

I'd be guessing the coach batteries might be low or the disconnect to inverter power is off. Measure battery voltage with shore power disconnected.

Our inverter flashes numbers like that as well. I think the 5.21 my be the amperage pull? Ours seems to cycle between voltage and amp draw when it is turned on. Have you checked the GFCI reset on the outlet? I have the CSW1012 inverter. I also have the manual and data sheet for that model. If that's what you have, let me know and I can send it to you. The troubleshooting section has error codes that all start with "E" like E01, E02, etc. It says if battery voltage drops to 10.5, it will shut down to protect itself.

Sounds like low DC. Check the leveling unit and see what it displays for battery power.

Finally had time to check things out. The inverter of course is mounted upside down, so what I was seeing is 14.2 and 000. These numbers continually flash back and forth. The GFI plug was reset, the batteries are good also. I plugged a separate electrical devise into the plug it did not work either. Spoke with the dealer today taking it to the shop next week. Thanks for all the info. Jimbo

Jimbo, the 14.2 is voltage of the battery, most likely bulk charging. The 000 is the amperage pull from the inverter, in this case Nothing, zero amps. If you are not getting power plugging a device into the inverter directly, then either the GFCI is tripped on the inverter outlet or the inverter itself is bad. If you are on shore power, then you will also see numbers such as these and the refrigerator should run from shore power and not the inverter. In that case, the auto transfer switch may be bad. You should see a cord plugged into the inverter. Trace it to a box also mounted on the basement ceiling. That will be the transfer switch. It supplies power to the refrigerator outlet and it sends either shore power or inverter power when shore power not available.
