2005 Ford trucks
Has anybody bought a new 05 Ford truck yet? I looked at a sticker for a F350 single rear wheels that had a gvw of 11,400 pounds and a built in trailor brake system. I now have the new truck fever real bad. But if I bought a bigger truck then I would want a larger Monty. It just keeps smowballing.

I do not have one.........BUT, I, like you sure have looked. And yes, the F250 and F350 have new "real" tow rating increases. Ford put new frames under those trucks. They went back and looked at the F550 frame and engineered one for those 2 trucks from that study. No, I am not saying the F250 and 350's are really a F550. Ford used the F550 frame engineering, and applied it to the new Super Duties.
Did you notice that they added a touch of the "Tonka" to the front end, and up lifted the interior and dash?

Now you did it. Made me look. I'm partial to gas and I see the new 10 cyl. has 457 ft. lbs. torque. with 80% of it delivered at only 1000 rpm. That's sweet. You sure know how to put pressure on a guy.

Not for the F-150/-250/-350.
They actually decreased the GCWR of their trucks with the "535" option from 30K to 28K...

I've looked at the '05 and have been drooling ever since. I think I'm in love. But, the other love of my life (the one that really counts) says 'no'. And I haven't come up with a good reason to justify the change. The current truck does a super job, so....
Yes, I read, too, that the F350 has a tow rating over 17k pounds. I don't know what equipment that requires. When I get a chance I'll see if the Ford site has the new tow ratings manual available for download like they used to.

Yes the new Ford Truck looks great, however with my new 04 F-350 I have sufficent for now. Perhaps in a couple of years Montana will expand their line, then I can justify a newer and bigger truck. Happyrving......

I will have to agee with Northstar. I too have already looked at the new Fords and they are really sweet. I fought off the urge to swap my 2000 Power-Stroke; it is paid for that seems to make it drive better everyday. I guess I will wait a year of so.
