VanMan, you are correct and that's something everyone should remember. We did have one location where we could not connect. I'd forgotten about it until Vicki reminded me. We were in eastern Ohio in the mountainous area, down in a hole in a forested area. No cell signal of any kind in there.
In Connecticut we were also in a hole and were told nobody gets a cell signal there. Our cell phone did not work but we had a decent connection the entire 9 days with our aircard. Signal strength, per the router, was 1 out of 31 so I think the booster made the difference. A ladder mounted antenna might have provided a stronger signal, too, but I have no way of being sure.
