Newsflash!! The Sparkster wins award!!

I entered the Islanders RV Resort's photo contest, my photo of Sparky won second place, I called it 'Kitty in a box'. Anytime we have an empty box, or sack, he will find it and be inside. We had an Orange plastic ball for the Ferrets to play in, a hole in it just big enough for the Sparkster to crawl into, all you can see is fur and two eyes, we laugh and laugh at his antics.
He is now famous, oddly enough, the pictures are on the Post office window...a bit of irony in that.
Sparky reminds me of Cato in Peter sellers' Pink Panther. He waits in the shadows until one of the other cats walks by, then, Bam! he attacks them. The orneriest cat I've ever seen.
He's a pill.

Sparkster looks just like a cat I had, Sox; lived to be 19. We just bought a Mountaineer and were wondering if either of our fur dudes would travel with us. Has anyone taken a "house" cat and made them a "5th wheel" cat? Neither of these guys like riding in the car carriers. Sergeant, our oldest, much prefers sitting on the console between the seats and watching the world whiz by. Chuck would rather just not see anything.

We did take Sergeant on a short trip in our 25 ft travel trailer, but space was at a premium and it was tough finding a good spot for his toilet and dining facilities. The 307RKD we just bought seems to have more room for that type of thing...

I think you would be fine, but with the slides, you have to be careful if they ride back there. We put all three of the feline terrorists in pet carriers when we travel, one cat meows all the time, the other two couldn't care less and just sleep. We fell better as we know they are safe there on the bed.
They really love laying on the furniture in the Sun, and smelling all the new smells at the screen door and windows.

Susan, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Mountaineer. If you click on pink folder just above this topic and post your question as a new topic, you should get all kinds of answers to your question. It's an important one. Many, if not most of us, travel with fur friends so there are a lot of experts out there.

OZZ--I seem to recall reading an article recently about how pets and owners often share similar characteristics after spending lots of time together. Now it seems to me that you enjoy crawling into all the tiny spaces in your Monty looking for places to build storage shelves and/or stick in some new improvement. So why am I not surprised that Sparky likes to crawl inside any box, sack or ball that is lying around in your Monty.

LOL!!!!!

Jim-
What have you been feeding Sparky? Better yet, does his eyes glow in the dark like that or is that how he came by his name? Did you plug him into something to get this effect? LOL

Congrats on the contest.

I think the Devil in the Sparkster comes out when looking at his eyes in a mirror, or in a photo.....
It was fate that put us together, I was on a rooftop working on an A/C unit, it was around 100 degrees. I came down the ladder I had, on the front of the building, heard a little squeaky meow. When I found it's source, there was a tiny kitten looking up at me, such a pitiful sight to behold.
I walked him around the little shops and inside the bar, no one claimed him, and his mother was nowhere in sight, so...I says to myself, "Hershel, looks like we have a new kitten.."
I called Sue, who is always happy to take on a furry mental case, and off to the vet, she took Sparky for a tune up.
He is truly a mental case, he will only lay on my chest, won't let us touch him in the living room, but in the bedroom, or on my computer keyboard, he can't get enough love.
Sparky hides and attacks the other cats from any ambush point.
Nut ball personified. But we love the little Squirt.
