Abby update
For those of you who followed the thread on our granddaughter Lisa and her surgery, you might remember that I mentioned that Abby was sick. Al took her to the vet, and came home with some antibiotic. Much too complicated to go into, but seems the antibiotic is working, as the white cell counts are better. But, the distressing symptoms are the total disorientation, falling over, etc. We are leaning towards low blood sugar, possibly irritated by the underlying infection?? So, we are going to treat the infection some more, and feed mini meals about 6 times a day to see if we can control the up and down lethargic confusion. Blood work did not indicate any other levels out of the ordinary, so we are cautiously hopeful.

Hope Abby will soon be on the mend. You've had a tough go of it lately!!! Hang in there. Things should get better.

Thanks!
She is doing better. I recognized the signs of low blood sugar, because I have fought that for a number of years. Sure scared me tho when she stood in a corner and chewed on a carpet. (Remember she is going blind as well.) Same night she got behind the Telie in the house and got caught in all the cords, that was fun too - - NOT!!)
This is just one of our challenges this summer, Lisa, this, and the house. Whew, what a story, eh?? Some day, we will share the house story with ya all, and Tana's intervention in that story.

Sure hope things get better for you, Al, Lisa and Abby. Hopefully, it's all behind you and nothing buy good times ahead. I'm babysitting our son's two golden retrievers right now and they wish Abby a big WOOF WOOF.

Abby is starting her second round of antibiotics and in the last couple of days has started acting like our ole little Abby. Bouncing and attitude.
We are hopeful that whatever the infection was will not come back after the antibiotic treatment is finished.

Glad to hear she is on the mend. Sure is frustrating when they can't tell you what is happening.
