Yosemite Lakes, CA.

Has anybody been to Yosemite Lakes campground? If so, was there anything good or bad about it. We will be heading there in a couple of weeks and were wondering.

Thanks,

Ken

Never been there, but here is some info from a website. It's a commercial site so it, of course, is positive. I'm posting this just in case you're not aware it's a membership park.
------
Yosemite Lakes RV Park is a 400-acre property located in Groveland 5 miles from the west gate of Yosemite National Park. It is one of more than 50 membership campgrounds run by Thousand Trails, Inc. The campground is situated on a lake with a beach. It offers a full selection of amenities including a store, laundry, playground, and lodge. Campers can enjoy basketball & volleyball courts, bike rentals, mini-golf, hiking trails, kayaks, and many more activities.

With 100 sites, including 50 with full hook ups, as well as sewer and fresh water it is ideal for those who need RV camping near Yosemite Park. Rates for the summer of 2005 at this Yosemite Lakes RV Park start at $35 per night. Other accommodations include 130 campsites, 17 trailers, 10 bunkhouse cabins, 22 yurts, 6 garden homes, and a 12-room hostel.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Ken, We stayed in the park back in 2003 for two weeks and enjoyed it. It is a member park for Thousand Trails, like Steve mentioned but I believe they have a area across the road from the park for non members. The number for the park is 209-962-0103. They can help answer your questions if you are not a member.
The park side for members is on a creek which is damed up creating a lake with sites along the creek and then they also have a large open area with huge full HU sites but no trees.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I should have included that we are Thousand Trail members.
I was wondering about site size. We just spent the weekend at Newport Dunes RV Park and the sites were so close I had to crawl under the slides to get to the back of the rig .
If Wayne and Arlene made it with their 3280 I think we should be OK with our 3400.

Thanks again,

Ken

p.s. Steve, congrats on your choice of a new 3400. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we've enjoyed ours.

Ken,
You won't have a problem with the site sizes. The only tight sites were along the creek and that was because of the trees.
You may want to try Palm Springs TTN on another trip. That is the best park that we have seen in the system .

Sounds good. We'll plan on Palm Springs when it cools down. It's still in the 100's out there.
