I have a great fear of getting into one of those "Ya can't get out of situations" You know a low bridge where you have to back down a dirt road for a half mile to turn around kinda things. I've been looking at different apps, they all claim to be the best, So what RV GPS app do y'all recommend?

Garmin has a couple of RV GPS models.

I plan travel with RV Trip planner online, then transfer to my Garmin RV1080. It's been working well for us. Only once it took me down a dead-end road. But it was due to construction going on. The Garmin lets you configure the size of your rig so you don't get into trouble.

I use a Garmin since beginning and very happy. Free lifetime updates and no yearly fees. Once you give your dimensions it provides the best road which is usually the trucks road.

The main thing is being comfortable backing your rig in all situations. Careful planning and the right GPS certainly helps but nothing can account for traffic accidents, sudden weather related incidents or simply making a wrong turn. Lots of things can and will go wrong if you tow long enough. Get comfortable backing your rig. You will need it at some point.

I think we are going to go with RVTrip wizard. It looks like it will do everything we need. I don’t mind the yearly fee.

I use the Garmin 890. It not only advises of bridge heights, weight limits, lateral winds etc. It saved me from a serious issue in the dark at 3 am on a short cut someone advised me to use for access to the interstate. An alert popped up warning me of a grounding issue ahead related to a railroad crossing. Honestly, I would have been in a pickle if I had not been alerted of those tracks that were humped like a stunt driver's ramp. I still do my research on routes best I can but these units are most helpful at times.

I was looking at the Garmin 890 and was thinking about getting one but I can't justify buying when I still have the Garmin RV785.

I agree with this I would have to sell mines Garmin RV785 on offer up or Craiglist before I even think about getting one.
