toilet replacement

After 6 years of full timing in our rig and diligently shutting off the water when we leave the rig, we had an overflow issue. Looking at the dometic 320, any other suggestions?

I put a Dometic 320 in the full bath of my rig. I also added a valve on the supply line while I was doing the work. Your floor plan looks like it will fit with no problem - just make sure you have 15" from the wall to the center of the floor flange. My half bath only has 11" and a Dometic will not fit.

Go to Dometic website and you can find a 'map' of dimensions like height, clearance to wall needed, etc.

I also just replace the original Thetford with a Dometic 320. It barely touches the back wall, but fit snugly. Much better toilet and everything can be replaced or repaired without having to remove the toilet to do so, even the ball valve gasket.
You can't go wrong with the Dometic 320.

I recently installed a Dometic 310 after dealing with the old Thretfold leaking seals and constant black tank odor because it wouldn't hold water. The 310 was a welcome change. I didn't like paying the price, but it was necessary, and glad I did it now. I should have replaced it 4 years ago! No smells any more, and water holds in the bottom of the bowl.

And by the way, mine has the slam resistant seat and lid. You push the seat and lid closed, and it slowly lowers down on it's own. This is a really, really nice feature.

The difference between the 310 and 320 is the 310 is the regular oval bowl, the 320 is the elongated bowl.

We also have a Bidet. It was very easy hooking it back up. However, getting the Bidet off the old toilet was a real challenge. Those plastic bolts were seized tight. I ended up griding them down with a grinder and a hax saw to get the Bidet separated from the old seat. The end result is a very happy and satisfied camper again!

It looks like the Luxe Bidet installs exactly like the Bindell. You remove the toilet seat and lid and the bolts simply go through the new Bidet and the seat. Done.

However, plumbing may be a challenge (especially in an RV). It took me a couple of attempts, 2 totally different approaches, before I finally got it right. The plumbing parts supplied with the Bidet is designed for a household toilet, not an RV toilet. The water connection is different. I ended up cutting the PEX pipe and put in a T and used a conventional bathroom toilet water turn off valve to connect the valve to. It worked and its's never leaked.

It looks like the Luxe also has the higher end Bidets with heaters and blowers and such (and a much higher price). If you can figure out the plumbing and electrical, all you do with them is simply switch out the toilet seat. The Bidet is built into these seats. But! Plumbing, electrical, and price will make it a challenge in an RV.

Mine is just the simple water hook up. Once we went through our first winter using it, the cold water doesn't bother us any more.
