Floor sealant instead of wax

I was talking to a couple campers that have been camping along time and they said they use floor sealant instead of wax on the outside was wondering if anyone has ever done this and if so mine is pretty dull do I need to buff it out first or will sealant bring out a dull finish or is it just used to keep it shinny thanks for any info

Floor sealer

I did my alpenlite several years ago. I cleaned it real good first and then applied a liquid product I got at Home Depot. It was a red bottle. I think I applied two coats - maybe 3 coats on the nose cap. It looked good compared to the prior oxidized look. I sold it several months later so I have no idea how long it would have lasted.
