residential fridge

I know someone out there has an idea.. We store the rv in a storage yard with the fridge oFF. We do need to pull it to the dealer for service but want to keep the fridge off so the batteries don't take a hit. How do the res fridges keep the doors firmly ajar to allow air to keep the fridge free of mold and etc. I know the rv fridges have clips that would hold the doors firmly ajar during travel.

The black knob that holds the doors closed will also work to keep them open. But, do not keep them open while transporting. You will end up with a dent in the door. You may need to put something in the freezer drawer to keep it open.

Ours came with 2 knobs, a shorter one and the long one. The longer one will screw in to keep the doors closed. The shorter is used to put in with the doors open and is just long enough to keep them cracked open, including the sliding freezer drawer on the bottom. As stated, don't prop them open and transport. They'll be swinging around inside the rig.

Just drape small towels over each door, and in your freezer drawer (if you have one) to keep the doors from closing shut completely. As stated above, if in transit, make sure the doors are shut and secured. Once at the destination for storage, just prop the doors open with a towel draped over them.

thanks all.. I think I will just do the towel thing over the doors and drawer while in storage and secure the doors with the knob during travel. I just thought there might have been a quick gizmo out there somewhere to make one less thing to remember when hooking up.
