Lippert Presentation
I was just looking at some of the pictures posted by John of the 2017 Fall Rally. There was a picture of a CRC, Power Lube, High Performance Lubricant w/ PTEE. This was recommended by Lippert in the 2017 Fall Rally session they put on for lubing the slides and also the Level-up legs. This last year at the 2018 Fall Rally I had some problems with the front level-up legs squealing. The Lippert reps came over to our unit and had me operate the legs while they stood there. They squealed and then the reps asked me what I used on them to lubricate them. I told them the CRC Power Lube that was recommended at the 2017 Rally. They told me to stop using it because it contained silicone and the silicone dissolves or breaks down the seals in the level-up legs. I asked what to use then. They told me to take an lint free rag and pour some regular hydraulic fluid on it and then rub the legs with that rag. They said it will also lube the gaskets in the leg to keep them from drying out. Thought I'd relay this and let folks know that even Lippert can change their minds when it come to maintenance on their products. Just another helpful hint. Oh, they did say to wipe them down before retracting them and also, if you are sitting for any length of time, every 3-4 weeks so the legs do not collect dirt and dry out or become caked with dust.
