almost an accident

Hi everyone. We left yesterday morning for our our first outing with the new 34oo and new truck. We were heaed to the Oregon coast for our camp host position. Everything was going great, the truck pulled the Montana just great. All of a sudden an 18 wheeler went by and lost that tread part of his tire and it hit right in front of us. Pulled over as soon as it was safe, got out and checked and except for a few tire marks on the trailer everything seemed okay.
got to the camp ground and did agood check and found that that piece of tire tore off our motor for the back elec jacks.
Could have been a real bad accident but Don had good control of the truck and trailer so I know thats what saved us. Anyway just wanted everyone to be aware.

We had that happen to us too. Fortunately no damage other than some black rub marks. Hope your insurance will cover it for you and glad that nothing more serious happened.

Tire people keep arguing that these tires do not come apart and we know they do!

Years back as we were going to Nova Scotia, a 18 wheeler was right beside us when he blew a tire. Thankfully nothing hit the truck or the trailer but the sound it made scared the heck out of us. Glad that you's were ok. It can be a very scary moment.

In Nevada, we call these "road alligators". We've had two hit us, yet no damage thus far! We were lucky. It was scary, though, both times.

Happened to us on the way to Wisconsin this year. I am so glad it was Bob driving and not me. I would have possibly pulled to the side when I saw it coming. He just let it hit the front of the truck. Thank goodness it hit the bumper and didn't do any damage.

Sorry to hear that you were not so fortunate in the damage department, but thank goodness you both are ok.

To bad you were not able to stop with the truck that blew the tire and get all the insurance information. The trucking company/trucker is responsible i believe. Someone in the insurance business can straighten me out.

Your RIGHT!!! If you can obtain that information, the trucker is responsible. But who stops and thinks during the comotion???
