How many are using AirBags

I am getting a 3400 shorlty and am looking at things I need or should do to my TV. Air Bags are 1. If you are towing with a 2500HD Duramax and have installed Air Bags can you tell me which ones you are using, where you got them, where they worth it and about what they cost installed.
Thanks

Airlift Air Bags - w/ onboard compressor. Love them. Check my sig, Bob, and you will see I have the same truck and Montana (planned) as you.

Invoice: Compressor - $157.76. Air bags - $258.96. Labor - $150.00.

Mine were bought and put in by a dealer in Gaylord, MI. Very satisfied - $$ well spent.

Firestone Ride-Rite

LOVE THEM, WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT THEM.

Bought mine 2 years ago online but I'd have to dig out the bill in order to tell you where. If memory serves me I bought them at Suspension Connection, I think.
If you are the least bit mechanically inclined you can install them yourself, I did.

Here's a couple links to online sales...

BTW-As I have a compressor in the Monty I didn't bother with the optional compressor.

I also have the Air Lift with the onboard compressor. It is so easy to inflate and deflate with the controls in the cab.

Air Lift w/in cab control installed in 2002. Work great especially in compensating for rough roads. Strongly recommend in cab controls.

Me got the AirLift brand and had them installed by CW. No compressor as in my useage could not justify the cost. Love them through, sure helps to level things out and makes the ride better.
Would I do it again - you betcha.

I'm on my second truck with them, won't be without. Been using them for the last 12 years with no problems.
Got firestone bag, last set a friend found new at a swap meet for $40.00 still in box.
I installed both sets myself, easy job if you are handy and have a place to work.

Well...thanks to you folks I just bought some Ride Rite bags on EBay...$235 shipped.
I've been pricing them for quite a while now, and I just gotta try them out.
My back is getting tired of the bouncy bounce on those concrete slabs and I'm gonna beat those suckers yet.

Ozzy, if you can get the incab controls you can do an even better job of adjusting the ride on those concrete slabs. We had the Firestone bags on two trucks, though no bags on this one. When things got rough I could just reach down and adjust the air pressure and the ride. I never got rid of all movement but it sure made a big difference. The incab control with compressor is not cheap but to me it sure was worth the cost. I had the single control that put the same pressure in both sides. With a fifthwheel there is no need to have separate controls for each side and the single control is cheaper.

Thanks Steve...maybe I'll ask for that from Santa...
We had the inside adjustments in our previous motorhome, so I do know how handy it is.

I carry a small compressor for work in the back of my truck everyday, and also have a 12v compressor (pops fuses all the time).

One step at a time...

I don't have a duramax but on my dodge I have the Firestone Ride-Rites. Just love them and would do it again. I installed them on my neighbours Dodge and he wouldn't be without them either.

AirLift in-dash controller, air bags. I cannot be certain but the bags do seem to absorb the shock from bad road.

Had the Air-Lift brand bags, on board compressor, in cab controller and manual fill plugs near license plate, in case of compressor failure as Steve and Brenda. Camping World, 2 year warranty and work available at any CW. Total Cost was $819.00 not cheap by any means. This RV'ing is getting more expensive as we go along. Will be putting 265 tires on next.

There on my Dodge and I also would not be without them. I bought mine from suspension connection also. I think I paid 240.00 to the front door with the T fitting to connect them together. I don't have the on board compressor. Al

The T fitting is separate? I have a set due for delivery very soon and that T fitting is something I'm interested in. I may have to go shopping for one of those.
Also want to mount the fill fitting somewhere other than drilling a hole in the bumper. Maybe inside the bed so it's out of the weather.

I drilled my holes in the bumper, if I had to do it over I would have gone thru license plate. I keep 20lbs of air in mine at all times.

Good idea Ron...I just installed the bags and was looking for a good place for those fittings. Your idea worked out well.

This will hold me until I get things sorted and see if Santa is going to bring me the onboard adjustment setup.

...who ever thought this was a fun job...I'll be cleaning goo from under my fingernails for a few days. I remember now why I'm not a mechanic.
