Pro Aqua something to be aware of

Today while the wife was in the shower, she called me saying she had no water. I went out to investigate and found the factory quick connect fitting had broken clean off. Looking at it the wall thickness was extremely thin, and it broke right around the o-ring groove. I replaced it to get the wife water. But something for you to consider. I had the pressure regulator was set at 50psi i turned it down to 45 just in case.

I had to google “pro aqua” - I had no idea what it was. It’s a water filter system!
Found the pic below of the “Travel Series”…is this similar to your setup?
If so - which connection broke? The connection points have numbers (1 - 5) for reference in the pic.

Actually it is a water softener

The quick connect they supplied with the unit for the hose hookups are very thin wall material. 1 failed at 50psi. If this happens again I will replace all of them with the ones I got from Fleet Farm. I have been using those for 2 years now without issue. It would have been fitting #5
