Corian Sink stains
We've got Corian counter tops with the white sinks built in, as do most I guess. We have some stain spots in the sinks that look like rust, and have not been able to remove them. Tried the usual cleaners and bleach, but no go. Any thoughts?

Don't know if it's the right way but I put a paper towel down in the sink and dump some bleach on the towel and let it soak. After several minutes remove the paper towel and rinse. This has removed every stain we've had and we've not had any issues.

Dupont, who makes Corian, recommends using a green Scotch-Brite scour pad and Soft Scrub. You scour the entire white sink with the Soft Scrub and scour pad to make the sheen even and then scour to remove the stains.

We use the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers with great success. They are also great for many other cleaning projects. Tim

Mr Clean pads work great Scotch Bright pads do to. We've had Corian for over 20 years, love it. You can't hurt it.

Thanks for all the ideas. We also have Corian at our S&B, but there bleach works like magic. Can't figure out why it did not work the first time in the Big Sky.

Have you tried BarnKeepers Friend? It looks like comet powder cleaner and it works great and does not scratch. I have a glass top 5 burner stove that is 14 years old and looks brand new. There is another product I use frequently for all sorts of things and it’s called De-Solv-It. It’s non toxic too.

I believe that's called Bar Keepers Secret, we have used it also for hard water stains, works well.

We have had Corian tops and sinks for 20 years. The nice thing about it is you can’t hurt it unless you drop a cinder block on it like the Chevy commercial. If you can’t get the stain out, sand it with 320 wet or dry sand paper then polish it with 600 wet dry sand paper. It will work better if you keep it wet. If you are worried about this Lowes or HD they should have small samples you can purchase to practice on. It’s thick and the color goes all the way through. I’ve sanded mine a few times. There are several manufacturers of this material. It’s known as solid surface in the industry but it’s all the same material just different colors.
