F350 windshield trim loose and vibrating

As said, we're coming down Florida turnpike and we hear a terrible, loud vibration. The top windshield trim had come loose. Put wide masking tape over it and continued. How do I re secure that black strip? What adhesive does the forum suggest?

I would take it to a glass shop and let them secure it; shouldn't cost much. They have special adhesives for that stuff. If the trim is damaged, it might have to be replaced.

Tried 3 shops here in central Florida. Not interested to help. However they did give me a little advise. No silicone, only urethane adhesives.

Artful, that sucks! Apparently the shops just want big jobs (paid from insurance) even if they made their hourly rate for a 30 minute job. Good luck!
By the way, on my current truck (2012) it had this vibration noise since brand new. Somewhere I got the idea to put a wind deflector on the front of the hood. It got rid of about 75% of the noise. I think the rubber is old and more brittle now and doesn't vibrate anymore! Good luck again.

Yes, that's not nice of them. I had an issue like that, my local shop resealed it no charge. Just used a little adhesive from their caulk gun.

I fixed it (I hope) this PM with some Permatex weatherstrip adhesive. Time will tell.

Truck was parked for about a month while we were away. When I went to use it I noticed the rear sliding window was tilted inward. The upper trim that is also a slide had come loose. Went to Safelite and they said the whole window had to be replaced and it is not covered by insurance,(manufacturing defect, not broken) $600+.
Tried the Ford dealer and they couldn't help but recommended a local glass shop that they often use. Went there and started to explain the issue and the guy asked me "is it a Ford" "yup we can fix that"
It was in and out in about a half hour for $50. Just reglued it and taped to hold till it dries. They'd done many of them
Come to learn this glass shop is "Golden" in this city. My SIL is a contractor and uses them all the time.
