TV Mount

Good day all. I am looking to wall mount a bracket for a tv in our bedroom of a 311RL. Would anyone know the dimensions of the wall plate and the accepttable length of screws to use without penetrating through the outside wall? Is the plate metal or wood?

Measure the thickness of your exterior wall at the door or a window and then select a screw that is shorter. Simple.

Use a stud finder to find the mounting board. The mounting board will be made of wood.

If you do not have a mounting board at all, you can accomplish the same thing by putting a mounting board on the inside of the wall. Use something like Liquid Nails or Gorilla Construction adhesive on the back of the board and then use several screws to hold it in place. Let the glue dry good for a few days. Then mount the television bracket to the board.

I did this on a previous camper. I used a flat mount, detachable, as we always laid the television on the bed when we traveled:

If installing TV in the usual location, take magnet and run it slowly along the wall location. Newer .models have a thin metal backer plate embedded in the wall for installing a TV mount. The magnet will indicate the location and perimeter of the plate. I believed I used 1 or 1 ¼" fasteners for our installation which has been rock solid
