2004 3650RK Furnace Inop

New on here plus new to Montana. I have a 2004 keystone Montana 3650RK. We cannot get the furnace to kick on. We’ve tried everything that has been suggested. It’s really strange that there’s no access panel for it, no pilot light or igniter at all. Just the square box under our couch. Please help

Access to the furnace is from the outside via the removable screen covering the device. While there is no pilot light, there is an igniter for the burner. I am not familiar with your floor plan but I would be surprised if the furnace is under your couch.

In the Files Section (second thin brown ribbon above) https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...hp?do=cat&id=1 are a couple of files that may help you diagnose the problem.

Look for a metal cover with an exhaust vent in it. Most Montana's have the furnace on the same side as water inlet and the furnace and ductwork are usually behind the basement wall. There are exceptions and our 2017 is one that has the furnace just in front of the door, but still right behind the basement wall.

Thanks Carl! There is no outside access panel to the furnace there is only two exhaust holes where the furnace is. In the 2004, the end of the sleeper sofa/couch pulls out and the housing is under there for the furnace. The access for it is terrible.when we turn the thermostat on you can’t even hear it click or no fan at all.

I’m confused as to where the basement wall is.

Sorry, but I don't remember ever seeing that kind of installation. My 2005 2955RL had outside access to the furnace.

Do you still have that weird "remote control" thermostat that was used in 2004. 2005, and 2006? That thing was a nightmare and source of many weird problems.

Yes. Is it the “easy home” remote?

Could the problem really be the thermostat or the remote? I don't recall how to test that puppy but the link below may give you a hint. The following is cut from an earlier discussion, but is still relevant if you have the remote control thermostat.

====================================

The now infamous remote control thermostat installed in 2005 model Montanas was a problem for many members. Here is a link to 18 pages (349 Posts) of discussion related to this POS. Included in the text is the part numbers you will need to upgrade to the Comfort Control Center (CCC) replacement unit and instructions for installation. Back in the day, Dometic was replacing them for no charge. Today it will cost you. But the CCC is a way better thermostat.
