Driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Has anyone driven the Blue Ridge Parkway with a 3400? And can you recommend campgrounds along the route?

I remember someone making the trip last year tunnels and all, have you searched the archives? Sorry I can't remember who it was.

We traveled from the bottom up to Boone which is a full days run at 35 mph so don't plan on a 1 day trip if you want to see anything.. stop in any state rest point and they have all the tunnels etc height but we pulled the 3000rk up it with no problems , some underpasses we drove the center as a precaution ,, its a great trip go lots of camping spots , look in trail life or at the state rest stops , but the state camping spots are small, you need to get off 1 block or so

We drove it last fall from the North end all the way to Asherville... We have the 3475 which is about the same size as the 3400.... We took our sweet time and stayed just off the Parkway for two or three days at a time... We did not have any trouble with the parkway as far as bridges etc but there were many tight twists and turns and we did lose a vent cap about three times... The problem that we ran into was that the turn off's weren't marked "no trailers" where they should have been and we got ourselves in a jam many times where we had a hard time getting back on the road... There are a lot of campgrounds on the parkway that are big enough for the Tana but I can't remember which ones they were.... Check our blog for October 2007 entries... I should have more information on it for places to stay.
