Generators - Honda 2000i
I was searching around for a little longer duration on gas tanks for my 2 - Honda 2000i's and here is what I came up with. Some of you may be interested if you have 2 of these units. Looks pretty simple and it would be a real savings to build it yourself...JB

Looks like a pretty cool setup -
How big are the actual Honda tanks?

The book says 1.08 gal. per generator on the EU2000i model. This would save you from having to gas it so often.....JB

Deadeye-
We might buy a second 2000 Honda this year. Really like the one we already have. The one gallon tank lasts a long time the way it is. That setup would make it a lot longer.

We get 14 hrs. out of one tank using 1 generator. Then we change over to the other one. Unless you were parked for a long time why would you need the extra tank? On edit: I suppose if you were in hot enough country it would be an asset. Hasn't happened to us yet.

If I was at Quartzsite, AZ out in the boonies, you may just need it. To each his own... JB

Looking around and found a site that has better pictures than what I originally posted. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Since I live and camp in hot country all the time, and am limited to hookups, because the Hondas don't last long enough - I use them for emergency power shutdowns.
Outstanding! I like it. With a 6-8 gallon tank I can probably get 3-5 days straight without refueling using everything at 30 amps. I also like the idea of using smaller gas cans to refill the large reservoir to keep its transport weight down.
In any case I would buy additional Honda fuel caps to modify for this and use the original caps for transport and discrete use. This is finally on my list of wanna-dos.

I have an 18 gallon marine tank set up on the slide out tray. I did mine several years ago pretty much the same except I used metal valve stems in the gas caps, perfect fit for the gas lines. I would never travel with gas it the tank, fill it up just before you park.
