OTR mobile has worked great for me. I use the internet a lot as at times it is necessary for work. Did a 3 day training webinar without any glitch or interruption.

All the cell phone providers offer coverage maps. If you are outside of the coverage areas and need internet, you will need to have sattelite service like Hughes Net. It's expensive and difficult to set up unless you have automatic dish.

Use your mobile phone hotspot, the only time you won't get it if there's no service.

We use a Verizon MIFI (Jetpack 4G) while traveling & camping.
Works well for our computers, IPad, and IPhones

Keep in mind, if you want to hot-spot a cell phone, cell service is not always available in some locations.

Verizon has a plan for Florida 55 and over with unlimited everything including hotspot (600kbs) for $45 per phone. You may ask about this in your area, it’s nice.

I have been using MIFI hotspot from verizon for years. If your a veteran verizon also gives you a pretty good discount.

I use a jet pack from Verizon. No need to use phone as hot spot. Speed is good enough to watch tv using Roku. Up to 15 devices can be connected. Enjoy your travels.

Try Comcast Mobile for your cell service and use your phone hot spot. Comcast uses Verizon towers and at a fraction on Verizon cost. Byt the gig data at $12.00 or unlimited at $45.00 per phone.

I bought a Verizon D-Link mobile router with an unlimited plan and added a Yagi antenna and mast for days with weak signals. The plan's speed throttles way down after the first 20GB. So don't plan of watching Netflix all day. .

Larry, we are full-timers. I have ATT for our iphones. I used hotspot but my data plan was being used up. I went to ATT store and got a modem that works like the iPhone and connects to the ATT service. I have 50 mg, I believe is a fair price. I watch a lot of movies and so far I have not used up my data for the month. I believe you can buy more data than the 50 mgs. Hope you enjoy your time traveling.

I am also an OTR member and have been very happy with them. Unlimited with no throttling - $80 per month, all taxes included. I started with them in November 2019 and I use about 6 devices plus a Fire Stick for movies or special channels. They have worked through two challenging situations that discouraged a lot of subscribers, but I am very happy with the company. Check them out at: https://www.otrmobile.com

Net connection

My experience is cell using service from Visible, unlimited data, they use Verizon towers. If you get four people on plan cost is $25.00/mth. Also, purchased Jetstream device from Wally World for streaming videos, works well.

I have this veteran plan. It is a bit cheaper but it comes with reduced performance. They will up performance upon request for limited periods.

Since by wife is an internet junkie we got a Verizon router to get wifi reception on our sailboat in San Francisco marina and take it camping to augment campground wifi and our limited data AT&T cell phone hot spot.

Just upgraded our Verizon cell service to their 55 Plus Unlimited plan. Even though their website states that it's a trial program only available to those with a FL mailing address, I told them that I was interested, even though we don't reside in FL, and they said no problem and signed us up. It's limited to 2 cell phones and the cost is $80 per month. Supposedly no throttling of data...

Might as well share some information. Those of us that have the winegard 2.0 system or branded ToGo system same thing, after your unlimited plan runs out I found a company and spoke with them about the system and confirmed with winegard that the settings can work. The company is called WiFimate they use Verizon towers and its 80 a month no caps no throttling unlimited data. The SIM card will fit in the winegard system and will work. I also confirmed with them you can start and stop service as needed. When you stop, then restart they will send a new SIM card. Which means crawling up on the roof, could also be a good time to inspect while you’re there.

Just thought I would share some info. I’ll be using them after my plan expires in November.

Tony
