08 2955 RL Front AC installation

Well I just dropped off my monty at the dealer for warranty work and was getting the front AC installed ( Dometic Penguin, low profile requested) and the guy at the dealer said he did not think the Monty was prewired for the second AC back to be controlled by the thermostat which is a two zone comfort center. I told him this was an anniversary model and was advertised as wired for the second AC. I know the line voltage is run to a box next to where the AC will go, My question is, Is the thermostat wire run for the second AC.
Thanks
James and Jan Lee

James,
I believe what is meant by "wired for second AC" means that line voltage (120VAC) is wired to a box located adjacent to the vent opening where the second AC will be installed. The thermostat is indeed a multi-zone thermostat but the second AC would have to be wired all the way back to the original AC's control unit and that is not typically the case.

Those who have had the second AC installed, control that AC unit locally through controls mounted on the AC unit itself. The central thermostat will not control this second AC.

I am sure there are others who will chime in who have added or had a second AC installed in their Montana's.

The pre anniversary 2008 is prewired for power only and not controlled by the thermostat. the anniversary edition was wired to the thermostat and was ducted.

It should say on the decal by the door and it would have a 10th anniversary decal. 10th anniversary where built in the fall of 2007 or winter of 2008

Just got a call from my dealer and they have finished the AC install and the thermostat was wired to the front zone and does control the front unit. I pick it up Saturday and we are off on our next adventure. Kudos to Camper City in Buford Georgia.
Thanks for the feedback

jaleepadgett if your system you will like it. We have two A/C a and they are ducted and the thermostat control both. We have Zone 1 for the living area and Zone 2 for the Bedroom. As a matter of fact the bed room just reached it set point and shut off. This is our first 5th wheel that has the duct system and two zones. The system is so much better than prior systems. Good Luck and glad to hear things worked out. GBY....
