I've never seen any requirement to chain the hitch to bed...just the trailer. Chains should connect the pin box to the truck bed

That's really what my ultimate question was. Thanks for that answer! I guess that I'm just trying to understand what the "intent" of that law was. I would think that my with my hitch that IF I could keep the hitch from coming out of the box, it would ultimately do the same thing...

In California when using the Anderson hitch you are required to have chains. I have adapter on the rails and chain it up when we travel, an extra step but CW gave it to me free
