Portable pumps from Harbor Freight
I know somewhere there is information on changing the portable water pump from 9 volt to plug into the back plug of our truck. Can someone help find that information?

Hi John and Debbie, could you explain a little better? I think a 9 volt water pump would not be compatable with the 12 volt system in the truck, unless I am missing something.

If it is the pump that Brenko found all you need to do is replace the clips with a 4 prong trailer plug. You should have a 4 prong and a 7 prong plug on your truck,at least most do. just see what is your power and ground and match it up.

That link provided by Brenkco talks about a 12v pump system which would be fine for a truck. I'm guessing (hoping) your 9v reference is a typo otherwise you now have to transform a 9v to the truck's 12v system which would complicate things.
If you use the pump like what's shown in the link, you'd just need to set up a connection to the truck (battery). One way is to cut off the clips and buy another 7 pin adapter and plug these wires into the proper hot and ground (aka return) of the connector. This would then plug right into the 7 pin connector on your truck.
The 4 pin trailer connector wouldn't provide these as easy since it only provides the left/brake, right/brake, running and ground (no HOT).
The pump would then need to be close to the 7 pin connector unless you add extra wire. I would also consider running the engine while using the pump so you don't run down the battery.
I hope I'm addressing what you are trying to do here.

Art,you are right. In my rush I forgot that there was no hot on the 4 prong, but you could always use the hole for the lights if needed. Since you will need to run the engine anyway like you said. The best part is I should know better...

Yes it's 12 volt not 9 volt. picked up the 7 pin connector and on/off switch also picked up some extra wiring. Thanks to everyone.

I used forklift connectors (smaller versions and designed for 12 volts and lower amperage) for a macerator pump, jumper cables and 12 volt air pump. I put a dust cover on the female side to keep dirt and moisture out.
