South Louisiana
Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, LA, 1.6 miles off I-12 between Hammond & Baton Rouge, LA. Excellent campground about 12 miles west of a new Camping World opening Dec. 20th, 2004. Six miles further west on I-12 is a WalMart & other commercial stuff. Dixie RV will be the onsite dealer. They are my dealer and we are very pleased with the service we've had from them.
If you stay here, be sure and try out Wayne's BBQ just down the road. Nice people, great BBQ.

They are open year round. Met a full timer workamper when we there a couple of weekends ago. He and his wife were wintering there before heading to North Dakota in April.

Thanks again. When I start figuring our route I'll keep that one in mind. Don't know at this point if we'll be going through that area or not but one of these days we will.

masonsand thanks for the great looking site. We plan on getting to Cajun world early next summer. We will give this place a try. Great looking rig too.

Just to jump in here to say: we like Fontainbleu State Park on the North Shore of Lake Ponchatrain, near Mandeville, LA. We have camped there many times, first in a tent and in the past few years in our RVs. Nice sites, beautiful park. We often stop there as our first stop on the way to Pensacola (or on the way home). Please forgive my creative spelling of French names. I have no documents before me.
