New living room flooring

Well we bit the bullet and replaced the cheap and nasty carpet in the living room with waterproof (wine proof too I hear LOL) vinyl plank flooring.

The new flooring went down fast and easy. Hardest part of job was removing the hundreds of staples that the factory used to keep carpet in place. It didn't help that in some places the factory had put carpet down then installed walls.

One trick I did learn is that a Hot Air (heat gun) Gun will MELT the cheap carpet they use in RVs without a flame. That came in handy in places where I simply could not get all the little strings out of a crevice. At least I could melt them back to the point they won't be in the way when I put down trim.

Eventually we will do the entire trailer. IF I ever buy another rig it will NOT have carpet in it. In fact the idea of heated floors sounds real appealing. I know they have those in high end Class A rigs and custom Spacecraft 5ers....

Did you use the peel and stick/adhesive vinyl plank or the click together floating type? And curious how it’s holding up.

Thanks
