12 volt lights blinking

We have a 05 3400 with a problem , the 12 volt lights seem to flicker on and off.I have checked the batteries and connections at the fuse panel,checked ground wires,have found no loose wires.Has anyone had a problem such as this?I am running out of possible causes for blinking lights.The 110 volt lights are fine no problem there.

Take the fuse panel out, on the back tighten the main red wire. Mine was just stuck under the screw, not even one turn tight.

Thank you for reply I removed fuse panel and checked battery cable connections they were tight.Yesterday I removed batteries and took them to be tested both tested ok, called dealer and was told to check all 12 light connections,will try that today and see what I find.

I would think a common trend with all 12 volt loads, such as the Positive cable, since you checked that, maybe the White ground? Check in the wiring cavity, then on the frame where the white wire is grounded.

In our '03 the battery is grounded to the bottom of the front locker by a sheet metal screw. Ours rusted enough to have an intermittent connection. Yours may be too new to rust but perhaps it is not getting a good ground connection.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!
