Battery Maintenance

I have a 2017 Montana 3661RL and it appears there is a leak or one of the two batteries has boiled over. I want to remove the two batteries, clean up the battery box and determine what's going on. Can I "turn off" the battery kill switch while doing the work? I'm not sure what this switch is called but it kills the charging voltage to the batteries. We full time so turning off power to the entire camper would be difficult. Thanks for your input.

My recommendation would be to power down to do your work. You should be able to get it done in an hour or two.
