Bed Saver/Pin Lock

It appears that Blue Ox Dealers is selling a new type of bed saver. Or is it in addition to the bed rail. It doesn't really explain. But by the picture, it appears to be a neat deal all in itself. I'm thinking you don't need to the bed rail saver. Whats your thought?

Look here http://www.blueox.us/Bedsaver/bedsaver.htm

We've been using the pin lock for last 2yrs and it seems to work great.

Nothing hard to install.

Looks like you would use one or the other, but not both.
The new one looks like it would take up less bed space. But also looks like you would have to unlock the hitch, pull forward a few inches, then raise the pin more, then pull out. An extra step, but maybe worth it.
Only available for a limited number of hitches, none of which are the most well known brands.

I have been using the PinLock for 2 years now with no problems at all. Instead of going thorough the unlatch, lift RV up, then pull out; I purchased a 4 foot long two inches wide elastic tie down strap with a hook on each end. I just hook one end of the strap under one side of the bed rail then across the truck bed going under and lifting up the "catch flap" on the PinLock, and hooking the other end under the bed rail on the other side. This holds the "catch flap" in the open position and allows me to just pull out from under the pin box normally. One thing I do like about the PinLock vs the BedSaver is that it is more compact, and I feel should a drop ever occur the more compact size of the PinLock would put less leverage force on the hitch. This is just IMHO.
