Help - converter/battery/shorepower problem
Hello all. We just picked up our 3685FL yesterday and tried to stay in it last night. We hooked up to shore power (30amp) using an adapter from our 50 to the 30. We had a volt reader plugged into an outlet in the 5th wheel, and it read 130 or just under. We started having some failures - - dimming lights, the frig check light flashing, the hot water heater kicked off, and the furnace stopped running. We checked and the indicater on the propane was green - - then discovered our battery was just about empty. When we picked it up in 35-40 degree weather the battery wasn't quite full, but we drove approx. 100 miles before disconnecting from the truck. Items plugged into the outlets were fine - - we are fairly new at RVing (this past summer) and this is our first fifth wheel and somewhat more complex. Is there a switch on the converter; if the unit has been winterized would that be the issue? Any help would be very much appreciated - - we want to take it for 5 days over Christmas to Florida. Now that it is daylight we are going to check fuses (again, but in better light,) make sure the battery connections are OK, and look for a switch. Thank you in advance for any help. Hubby is frazzled!!
