Am wondering, if shore power is not consistent, the inverter would go to my 12V batteries to maintain proper current to fridge correct? If the inverter is going back and forth between the two, could it cause over current which is a reason the fuse is installed?
I’m new to inverters and never had any issues with my gas/elect. Fridge in my past campers.

I don't have a WFCO inveter so I am not sure what yours looks like. Here is the manual for a WFCO 5100 series inverter. Page #9 has some things to check.

Carl thanks, I just found the tech man for my model and did some reading. Am now wondering if the fridge is using to much wattage when running.
Also, has anyone ever used a surge protector box when plugging into shore power?

That 12 amp breaker seemed it might be a little light for the refer but I don't know.

Many of us use a surge protector. Those that don't are like the ones who keep the China Bombs. You may be fine for some time but you never know.

Try turning off the disconnect switch that disconnects the inverter from the batteries. This should show you that 120vac is NOT being passed by the inverter to allow the fridge to run. On the wfco inverter 120vac power comes into the inverter on the back and should be labeled shore power in, as well, 120vac power out should be labeled as well. With shore power off and the batteries disconnected from the inverter, it should be safe to take the romex wires out from the back of the inverter. You should be able to positively identify the romex coming from the circuit breaker panel by making sure all wires of both romex cables are separated and turning on shore power and meter both cables. The c.b. cable should be live/hot while the fridge romex should be dead. Assuming the factory did not have the romex cables reversed...then connecting them together with power off and restoring power should power up the fridge and confirm the inverter is dead. John

Jcurtis934 thanks. I’m going to try this when my fuses show up in the mail.

Those of us that have ems systems, I have the progressive industries ems-pt50x, use them because we feel that park power is not always reliable and don't want our units damaged by park faults. I have seen grounds come and go, low power on one leg of the 50 amp service, saw high cycles per second in one park in the smokey mtns.

Why wfco has a fuse accessible by a user is a mystery to me. The inverter circuitry should protect the inverter from all the different faults one would encounter. You now have an inverter that is not allowing 120vac to pass thru with the inverter off or that fuse blown...which it should do. At this point, you have nothing to lose by making sure 120vac from the circuit breaker panel is going to the right input on the inverter, isolating the inverter out of the picture by connecting both romex cables together and noting the fridge runs. This assumes that you feel yourself to be safe working with 120vac power runs. Wfco should be okay with sending you a new inverter, but you can always tell them what is going on now before you isolate it from the 120vac wiring with no 12vdc power supplied to it. All inverters have a "decision tree" of : priority power present pass through to output circuit...if inverter on then go to idle mode, if inverter off no issue. If priority power not present and if inverter is on then pass inverter power to output section. If inverter is off...no issue.
