2015 3791rd living room slide not openingq

Our 2015 3791rd living room slide won't open. It seems to close ok but won't go out. The motor seems to be running fine and getting enough power. It just doesn't move out. We see nothing binding or in the way. It's the kind with the motor and cables over it. Any ideas what it could be? Pictures to help find and identify parts would be really helpful, I'm not terribly mechanically inclined! We were planning to take it out next week but the first appointment we could get to have it looked at is the end of September so we thought we would try to take a look at it.

I have the same model (3791RD) but 2019 model year. Mine are Schwintek slides in the living room, so I assume yours are as well. Do the motors activate when trying to extend the slide? Can you hear it run or does it not do anything? It could be the extend circuit is not getting power. I had a bad switch on my hydraulic dining room slide. Tech said it was the reversing solenoid, but the other slide and landing gear worked fine. You can reverse the wires on the back of the switch (extend and retract) to test if that is the case.

Common issue, replaced both gear boxes (one on each of the livingroom slides) on our 2015 3790RD. The norco gearbox's have cheap white metal gears that destroy themselves before the sacrificial shaft between the motor and gearbox break. Engineers design looks good but with todays sourcing the cheapest parts the gearbox's are obviously not up to the original design criteria and the gear strips. Usually going in only one direction btw... There is an upgrade you can buy with a slightly larger motor/gearbox combo. I did that with both slides in the livingroom and bought one as well to have as a spare for the bedroom slide. Never had another issue afterward until we traded it in. BTW this isn't just a Montana issue they put the same gearbox's in almost all the cable driven slides regardless of manufacturer. Also from our Montana service department manager of parts apparently the extra motor/gearbox I never used is the same on the new style slide system so I carry it with me... With luck I'll never have to find out.....! If you dm me with your email I can send you the part number as I think I still have the email/order form somewhere in my files.

2015 has cable slides, 2019 Schwintek. Different animals, but apparently same gearbox/motor.

Gearbox part# R25076 from BAL

There is a replacement description on this site somewhere that some of us contributed too. Tells you how to do it and what to look out for with most important tips. Not a big job.... Sadly should not have been and issue
