Kitchen sink anti siphon vent

Appears (smells?) like I need a new anti siphon vent on the kitchen sink drain. Is this a common Home Depot/Lowe's (ie, Oatey) part or have the RV manufacturers conspired to make these a 'special' part

If you want to replace it, the anti-siphon seems to be a common size, so see your local hardware. For my situation, my sink drain led to a pipe in the wall that went both to the grey tank and the roof vent, so no anti-siphon was needed per "plumbing experts".

So I removed the anti-siphon and replaced it with a end cap to plug it up. I got the advice from other MOCers with the same problem.

I had to place mine a few months back because of the tank smell, it fixed the smell issue. I think I ordered mine from Amazon

Unscrew (lefty-loosy) it and match it up at the store.

When you go looking for this valve, it is called an air admittance valve, not anti siphon. It acts like a conventional vent pipe that would exit the roof which allows air to follow waste down the drain.

Bob - after spending (wasting?) some more time n the 'net, found that these gadgets are called Anti Siphon Trap Vent Device or an ASTVD. Makes sense since they prevent the sink trap from being siphoned dry, Under the sink is a regular 'S' or 'P' trap, depending on how on OEM plumbs the system and it's not a HEPVO like installed in the bathroom system. These are about 7 bucks or less at a big box store

That's my one new thing learned for today
Thanks to the folks that sent me on my quest

Bob where is this located please? And what does it look like? We have a local ACE Hardware where I'll look for parts. I have a 2018 HIgh Country 375FL and I believe that's where our kitchen odor is coming from. Thanks in advance! Dino

Not all trailers use the valve. If you have a vent that exits the roof from the kitchen waste tank, you will not have a valve, as it’s not needed. You should be able to locate the valve by following the black plumbing under the sink and looking for a part that rises up from the waste line.

Not quite. Our '14 HC had a roof vent along with the anti siphon under the counter near the sink. I do agree that the anti siphon wasn't needed but RV manufacturers I've found after owning many don't always get the message.

Thanks folks! Found one under both bathroom and kitchen sinks.

If they look the same, you are good. If the one under the bathroom sink looks different from the one for the kitchen, that may be the backflow/check valve for the black tank flush.

Well, this is a new one for me. I looked up "Anti Siphon Trap Vent Device or an ASTVD" and got hits on several different things. The first that came up looked like a conventional Air Admittance valve. The next thing that came up looked like something that came off the Space Shuttle. After that, that term produced nothing but confusing items with the same name. So, really, I have no idea what the original poster is asking about now.

But whatever it is, if it's something connected to the RV drain pipe plumbing, then to answer the original poster's question, .... "Yes", you can get the part from any Home Improvement store as the plumbing pipes (water and drain) are the same that's used in your home.
