Garmin 760 LMT GPS with backup camera

Need to know if anyone has this system and how you like it. Have you installed the camera or had it installed on your Montana? If you installed it how hard is it and tips for installing? If you had it installed how pricey is the installation?

Hi

Our Montana came with a backup camera. I have been driving big trucks so long I just can’t remember to use it. I have the same problem with the backup camera on the new Malibu I got for the boss lady last year.

If you're talking about the Garmin BC-20 camera, be aware that it is a wireless connection to the display (GPS). These can be prone to interference. Our 3160 came with a Furrion wireless backup camera that is rated for 100' and we get interference using the display. The Garmin camera is only rated at 45', I would expect its performance would be worse than ours, YMMV.

On a similar note, we have the RAND RVND7730 GPS and like it very well. We also have experience with the Garmin 760RV. The Rand (same as Camping World RVND7735, currently on sale for $250) is just fuller featured and has the ability to link to a wifi hotspot for weather and traffic data as well as fuel pricing.

Remember, any GPS is just a tool to help you travel, ALWAYS do a sanity check of their routing and check other sources as well.

Smooth Roads

Thank you for the input. I think we will get the Garmin GPS without the backup camera. We have used a Garmin for several years. It isn't for rvs, but we are familiar with how the Garmin works. For weather we can use our phone.

I just finished reading a bunch of reviews of this device and lots of folks felt that the camera video quality was pretty poor. Of course there were others that thought it was just fine...
I like the Garmin Nav and this one sounds great with lots of cool features so unless Garmin tells me that they have upgraded the camera I'm going to just get the RV 760LMT without the camera and get a better back up camera elsewhere. The way I understand it, you can connect another camera to a "video in" line connection on the GPS unit.

Yep, that's the one! I have used Garmin for years and really like the user interface and features.
This one sounds pretty cool...

We have the Garmin RV760 and I love it. Very easy to use and great features with the listing of the campgrounds and it can pickup weather and traffic info too. Also has Blue-Ray so my phone can connect up to it. Do not have the camera though, I would rather use my mirrors or have the DW go back and spot for me with a portable radio.
