If you haven't already done so, check out Valley of Fire SP, just east of Vegas. Very cool rock formations. Saw lizards there, too!

Ditto the Cap'n on the Valley of Fire. There are some very interesting short walking trails there as well.

Bingo and Capt have it totally correct on the Valley of Fire! It is cool enough now to really enjoy it and do some of the trails! If you go back into some of them have a bottle of water with you and your camera. It is truly outstanding shots in on some of those trails!
