We stayed at Chula Vista Marina & RV Resort last spring -- little pricey but well worth it. Good restaunt at the Marina. Very clean park. Trolley stops at the door so you can explore the downtown area - an inexpensive way to see the town.

We were there for a month last February. I have oodles of pictures on our web site of fun things to see. Steve and Vicki Reigle lived there for years and told us some of their favorites. We tried them all. Coronado Island was our favorite. Great Beach

Vicki grew up in the San Diego area. I lived there for nine years.

As for RV Parks, the one at Chula Vista was nice, both the RV Resort and the KOA. But the one we really liked is a 55+ (quiet) park in Imperial Beach. Bernardo Shores RV Park. We even had a mailbox at our site where mail was picked up and dropped. The sites are nice sized and private but because of tall hedges (7 foot?) on three sides and relatively narrow access roads, this is one of the few places I popped the slider to back into.

Bernardo Shores is right where the Silver Strand comes into Imperial Beach.

We also stayed at Circle K RV Resort in El Cajon. It was ok but the sites were very tight for us.

There are some very nice parks over around Mission Bay and that general area but from what I saw they are way overpriced. Just my opinion, though. I understand they are great for kids.

Santee Lakes is a county park but looked pretty decent to me.
