New Owner in learning mode.

Hi everyone!
My husband and I just purchased a 2012 Keystone Montana Hickory Edition 5th wheel camper and put it on our lake as it's "home-base" until we decide to take it to some of the campsites at 4 different lakes in our area of North East GA.
The camper was VERY well cared for and always stored under a cover. The decals look practically new as does the interior. We have it set up on a concrete pad that is double its width and the cover is covering the entire pad. This makes for a nice "covered porch" area between the pad and the lake dock.
We are learning as we go, and there is a LOT to learn!
I recently let a family member stay for the weekend and she pulled the shade off the picture window. She tried to fix it but not a le to salvage the shade. Can anyone help me with where a good place would be to purchase another shade and what width is correct for the picture window.
We are loving out new home away from life as a retired couple!
Thanks!
Jazzie

Jazzie I don’t know a thing about your shade but I’m glad you are here and welcome to MOC.

The exact model would help answer any questions. 2012 Hickory Edition is not the model. We need info like what is in my signature line below.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your Montana. It sounds like you have a nice set up. Sounds wonderful!

About the shade, I can offer no help there. But I can give you a couple temporary quick fix suggestions.

Attach a large Command Hook on each side of the window and then use a wire or a thin extendable rod and in the hooks to hang a temporary curtain.

Another option, depending on your window configuration, valances, and every thing else, is to get a bath tub / shower curtain tension rod and simply hang a temporary curtain over it.

Meanwhile, you'll have a shade and this will give you some time to locate a new blind that fits and look right.

Again, welcome to the forums! Enjoy that Montana! Happy Camping!

Definitely knowing the Model Number will help with answers. The 2012 RV came with the old bi-fold shade. No roller shades.

I don't understand the statement "She tried to fix it but not a le to salvage the shade.". Pending knowing the model number, I am assuming the RV has a large rear window. Those long shades had a tendency to come loose from the wall. They are just screwed into the thin wall. If it just come off, then re-attaching it is pretty simple. It does require removing the valance. The screws holding the valance are hidden id the fabric and are fun to locate. Hint: Look under the folded fabric in the rear corners.

The other common problem is one or more cords that raise and lower the blinds have broken There are also fixable. There used to be lots of places to get cord and instruction for repair. I may even have a repair kit still.

Breaking the frame is very unusual if that is what happened. It is metal and would take some force to bend it. The length of the shade is on a sticker on the back of the shade.

If you can better describe the damage (pictures help a lot), we can probably give more specific repair steps.

Looking thru the 2012 brochure it looks like you have the pleated style day-night shades. Does the pic below look correct? Did the string come loose from the bottom?

A picture would help.

RVBlindCo.com is a distributor for Irvine Shade and maybe others. They offer shades and parts, and I think restringing services. You might have to send them a picture. (602) 321-9986.

Welcome and good luck with your new home!

Not new blinds/shades, but, for me, Fix My Blinds has been great for repair parts and instructions.
