Progressive Portable EMS
Just purchased a portable EMS, please let me know how you secure it from getting legs at a campground.
Thanks,

Secured mine once. Have never had an issue otherwise. I have not secured it in five years, have had no issues. Currently in Carrabelle Florida for past week, with no one taking a second look at it.

We always have ours secured at the post. We have a long chain (3 feet) and a lock. If someone really wanted it I guess they could figure out how to take it, but at least they will be discouraged.

Yep, 3/8" log chain and lock to the lower (smaller) area of the power post. If they want to steal it, make them work their butts off to get.

X2. If they want to steal it they can, but why go to all that bother for something you really can't sell. Chain it to the lower post and you'll keep the mostly honest folks honest. By the way, we have the same EMS and really like it.

I also have the same EMS and don't bother securing it. Most of the power posts are just short 3 or 4 ft. tall posts so wrapping a chain around it would be useless! They could just lift it up over the post. I figure if they want it bad enough they will get it no matter what you do to it.
I love the unit and it worked perfectly on our first trip with it. The park we were staying overnight at registered High Voltage during the night and the unit shut-off power to our rig. Saved us from having to high of voltage burn something out. Well worth the cost!

Never had a problem with theft on mine for 3 years, if it was one of the 350 dollar SURGE GUARDs ones I might lock it but my 50 amp progressive only cost 100 bucks
