Pilot/Good Sam RV Plus Card

I have recently begun using this credit card at the Pilot/Flying Js. Love the discounts on fuel and propane. I have experienced a problem when purchasing propane. The card will not process the transaction. The clerk receives a "out of balance" error. They must call their customer service line and receive a manual authorization number. Once this has been input, the transaction completes. I have called customer service and reported the problem. The feedback was, of course, we will check and the problem should be resolved by the next time you need to purchase propane.

So, have any of you had this experience, or is this just my account?

As a life member, have used the new card for a couple of months now purchasing gas and diesel both, great having those discounts! As for propane, have only filled 2 tanks, one at a time, and had no issue using the card so far.

Hi Bob, we too have the RV Plus Card. The support system for online is good. The actual and practical use of the card at Pilot/Flying J's is still incomplete.

In answer to your Q about propane, we have not use that item of service yet.

Fueling at the actual pumps requires you to walk inside, give the clerk your RV Plus card and Pin#, return to the pump and begin fueling then return for your card. I originally had thought it would all occur at the pump but so far not so.

I believe it can be a great incentive system for the discounts offered but also believe they rolled the RV Plus out prematurely or it is allowing me to be more patient!

There are several different cards now, the old RV Plus (cash price for credit plus 3 cents/gal off) and the newer thru GoodSam. I'm a Life Member of GoodSam and have the new card, which gets me 8 cents a gal off the cash price and don't have to go into the store for anything.

We have the NEW Rv plus card also.Never got any propane with it. Every thing happens at the pump both Rv lanes and truck lanes.Insert card, enter pin, fuel and away not a problem so far but we understand that not ALL stations have the software upgrade.

We have the new card also, and get the $.08 off per gallon for being lifetime GS members. I never have to go into the store, and the charge for the fill-up is in my email within 1/2 hour.

Just got notice of upgrading to life member and as active military or law enforcement, it was only 149.00. I thought it was a great deal. E-mailed them my id card and got reply that a rep would call me this week for payment. I try to upgrade to lifer on all my clubs and memberships when they offer incentives. Then don't have to send check each year. Another one bites the dust....

Thanks to all, Dennis, the Good Sam RV Plus card should allow you to pay at the pump as others have stated. I will see what happens on my next propane tank fill.
