"MY MODS" updated

If interested I have added several pictures on my latest mods to PhotoBucket. I think most are not original ideas but borrowed from our great MOC members. Just click below.

Nice looking Mods Dick! You've got me inspired to finally get some shelves in the pantry, and I like the printer idea - never even donned on me to put it over there!

Some nice mod's there. One in particular I'd like to know more about. The Stove vent. How do you keep it closed? The vent that I have has the 2 little ears that you need to stand on your toes to reach and put over the flapper on the outside. I can figure out how to get a stiff wire out to it, just can't figure out how to keep it closed while traveling.

Brad,
For the printer, I ran a USB cable behind the fireplace, out the front at the floor on the right and then I unplug it when I close the slider at that location from the cable that comes from the printer. The other end runs behind and under the desk and comes up a hole in the back left corner of the desk where I plug it into the laptop. I pull the printer out so I can see the buttons on top and also the top hinges up and is a scanner. Works great.

Bob,
Because the piece of stainless steel welding wire I used goes over the fan motor there is enough friction on the wire that will hold the vent where I want it. I drilled a little hole in the plastic door and bent the wire to catch the door. No more getting the ladder out and moving the little tabs.

You can also try a metal spring clip to hold it closed. One of those that you hold a bunch of paper together with.

Good luck,
Dick

Great mods! Can't say I like the printer/scanner too much as DW has designated this space for my bar. If I show her this I might loose the booze..........not good!

I like that vent idea - missed it when I first looked. I end up waking up in the night to secure the dang thing cause the wind makes it smack open and closed.
